About Evan DeWitt
Evan grew up in northwestern Maryland. At the age of nine, he was given an album called
“Jimmy Nelson’s Instant Ventriloquism” and the rest, as they say, is history. He began performing
soon after that in local churches and club meetings. Evan often finds that his “roots” in comedy
began in his childhood. The only son of a paper mill worker and his wife, Evan was crafting humor
out of his every day interactions with the local working class people. His humor is a cross of “The
Carol Burnette Show” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” It appeals topeople from all walks of life.
Many of the characters that he uses in his act have their origins in the small town way of life. Evan
has worked a variety of venues. While most of his work is done in private parties or banquets, he
has performed in a number of comedy clubs to corporate events as well as festivals and churches.
Versatility is the key. He is highly adaptable and adept at bringing laughter from even the most
lifeless room. His performances have taken him up and down the east coast from Florida to
Pennsylvania. Evan has always maintained a family oriented show, with material that is suitable
for all ages. This clean approach to comedy makes it possible for him to work in many different
arenas. Currently residing in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and family, Evan travels the tri-state
area for a variety of performances. Clubs, malls, trade shows, school assemblies, fairs, festivals,
weddings receptions, reunions, etc., whatever the event, Ventriloquist Evan DeWitt can provide
quality entertainment.
